Bill asks:“Will my sales results improve if I use better tools?”

SP: “Yes. Let’s suppose you were going to work on your car or house. Would your results improve if you used the best, most modern tools?”

Vol. 8 No. 1 April, 2006 – “Using Tools to Ensure Sales Success” – Part 1 of 5

Where do you start when using sales tools? Well, where do you start when building anything? Usually, it’s with what the customer/user wants the finished product to look like.

The same is true in sales. Before we reach into our tool kit and pull out anything, we must first know what we’re expected to build. To do that right, we must have a Sales Plan. That plan usually starts with understanding your offering and your market.

“Understanding Your Offering/Your Market” can be found at: http://www.salestraininginc.com/newsletter/2003/october/

Once we know what to build and for whom, it is crucial to have ready access to current customer/prospect data – via a system that we WILL use – Contact Management, Customer Relationship Management (CRM), etc.

In their Webinar of May, 19, 2005, SELIGENCE, LLC observed:

Your CRM system is only as good as the data in it, and finding the right tools to help manage that data is critical to ensuring your sales success.© 2005 SELIGENCE, LLC

Lead Management Systems © Copyright 1995 - 2006 By Tacticom Inc. http://www.tacticom.com/

In our experience, we have found that the single most important factor, in fact, the “foundation” of sales success, is selecting and FAITHFULLY using the “right” system.

For help with that, please see, “Importance/Use of a Customer Data Base” at: http://www.salestraininginc.com/newsletter/2004/june/

So now that we’ve got a data base, what are the best ways to reach our customers/prospects?

A description of some useful approaches for “Reaching Your Decision-Makers” can be found at: http://www.salestraininginc.com/newsletter/2003/november/
